Update on Breeze 5.1 Launch

Dear Breeze User,

We would like to update you on the following information regarding the launch of Breeze 5.1.

Breeze Services Unavailable on Wednesday, February, 1, 2006
We previously announced that the Breeze 4.1 server will be unavailable on Friday, February 3, 2006 from 5-8 pm.  In order to allow our server administrators adequate time to successfully migrate content from Breeze 4.1 to Breeze 5.1, we must move the migration to Wednesday, February 1, 2006 from 5-8 pm.  All Breeze services will be unavailable during this time.  Please contact Breeze Support at breeze@umn.edu if you have any questions about this change.

Available Breeze Services in Breeze 4.1 and Breeze 5.1 during Spring Semester
To make the transition to Breeze 5.1 as smooth as possible, both versions of Breeze (4.1 & 5.1) will be available during the spring semester.  Since we will be migrating Breeze 4.1 presentations, meetings, and meeting recordings to Breeze 5.1 on Wednesday, February 1, 2006 at 5 pm, please note the following known issues that affect Breeze content after this date and time:

  • New presentations, meetings, or meeting recordings made in Breeze 4.1 will not be automatically migrated to Breeze 5.1,
  • New presentations published to Breeze 4.1 can be manually migrated to Breeze 5.1 by republishing the presentation to the Breeze 5.1 server,
  • Meeting recordings made in Breeze 4.1 cannot be migrated either automatically or manually to Breeze 5.1.  If you need to record a meeting after this date and time, you must do so in Breeze 5.1,
  • Any meeting recordings made in Breeze 4.1 will become unavailable after the Breeze 4.1 Server goes offline during summer 2006.

You can continue to access your existing content, publish presentations, and conduct meetings in Breeze 4.1 during spring semester with these exceptions.  If you are ready, you can begin using the Breeze 5.1 server and your migrated presentations, meetings, and recordings on Monday, February 6, 2006.  Additional information on how to access migrated content in Breeze 5.1 will be sent to you next week.

Additional information on getting started with Breeze 5.1 will be sent to you by the end of this week.

If you have any questions about this information, please contact Breeze Support at breeze@umn.edu.

Sincerely,
