About UMConnect Meetings
UMConnect Meetings uses a deployment of Adobe Connect Enterprise Server to deliver real-time communication and collaboration over the web. It can be used for web conferences between small groups of people or it can be used for webcasts of events to large audiences. UMConnect meetings occur in online meeting rooms, which contain all of the necessary tools for communication and collaboration. UMConnect meeting rooms can also be customized to fit your needs. With UMConnect meetings, you can:
- Communicate by broadcasting audio and video or by text chat,
- Gather feedback from participants through polling,
- Display PowerPoint presentations and other content such as audio, video and graphics, or display your desktop or an open application on your computer,
- Share files with other participants,
- Use a whiteboard to collaborate with text or drawing,
- E-mail text chat or notes from the meeting,
- Record the meeting and allow others to view it at a later time.
To participate in a web conference or webcast delivered through UMConnect meeting, you need:
To broadcast audio and video or use screen and application sharing during a UMConnect meeting, you need:
- Adobe Flash Player 8 or higher
- Adobe Acrobat Connect Meeting Add-in for for Windows or Macintosh
- Minimum 1 GHz processor recommended when screen sharing
- Equipment for broadcasting audio and video, such as a web camera, headset with microphone or external microphone and speakers.
Get UMConnect
University faculty, staff, and eligible graduate students can create and host web conferences and webcasts delivered through UMConnect; students can participate in web conferences and webcasts. To create a UMConnect meeting, you must first activate your UMConnect Account. Please see Get UMConnect for additional information on UMConnect Accounts.
UMConnect Meetings and Accessibility
UMConnect uses a deployment of Adobe Connect Enterprise Server. Many features of Adobe Connect do not meet accessibility standards.
